The blog is named Aurora because it is first a synonym for my name Dawn, and second because it is the name of sleeping beauty. I like the romanticized idea that excessive sleeping is regal because I do it so well. The '1960' ties in my fascination with the 60s particularly the fashion movement stemming from London and New York at the time.
I hope you enjoy! xo

For Brunch (& Patio)
Havana on 1212 Commercial Drive, Vancouver.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 11-11pm, Fri 11-12am, Saturday 10-12am, Sun 10-11pm
The Havana patio is definitely the spot to be on a beautiful day in Vancouver, particularly for brunch which must be accompanied by a pitcher of Havana’s delicious sangria.
Located in the heart of commercial drive, Havana is a place to be seen and to enjoy great food with good friends. During the summer the patio is the main attraction for the restaurant so expect to wait for a coveted seat.
On my last visit I shared a pitcher of red sangria and for my meal I tried the Veggie Hash which comes with “two poached eggs, peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes, goat cheese, brown toast, hollandaise”. It was very filling and I enjoyed every bite.
Something unique about this restaurant is the small art gallery located inside. Exhibit information available on the website.
This is a must visit spot on my list. Enjoy!
